# MJX Hire troubleshooting — error messages and fixes

This page lists the messages MJX Hire shows, what they mean, and what to do. Find your message with your browser's search (Ctrl+F).

## I cannot find Recruitment

| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No **MJX Hire** in **Apps** | MJX Hire is not on your plan, or you are not allowed to manage hiring. | The owner switches on MJX Hire from **Settings › Billing › Pay for your products**, or gives you the HR role. |
| A tab with a 🔒 (Offers, Agencies, AI calls) | That feature is not in your plan yet. | Open it to see which plan adds it. |
| Only **My interviews** opens | You are an interviewer, not HR. | That is expected. Ask the owner for the HR role if you need more. |

## Jobs

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Your plan, …, allows up to 10 open jobs. Everything you already have stays — upgrade to add more." | Close or pause a filled job, or move to MJX Hire Pro (no limit). |
| "You are on the Forever Free plan, which allows up to 1 open job. Everything you already have stays — upgrade to add more." | Close your other open job, or upgrade to Basic or Pro. |
| "People have applied to this job, so it cannot be deleted. Close it instead." | Press **Close**. The applicants stay. |
| "Give the job a title." | Type the **Job title**. |
| "The top of the salary range cannot be below the bottom." | Swap **From ₹** and **To ₹**. |
| "The most experience cannot be less than the least." | Fix **Experience from / to**. |
| "Openings must be a whole number from 1." | Type 1 or more. |
| Job not on Google Jobs or a board | Make sure the job is **Open** and the **Free job boards — automatic** switch is **On**. New jobs can take a few days to appear. |

## Applications (what candidates may see)

| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| "This job is not taking applications any more." | The job is closed or paused. Open it again if you still want applicants. |
| "You have already applied for this job. We have your application." | The same person applied twice — their first application stays. |
| "Too many applications from here. Please try again in 15 minutes." | Many applications from one internet connection. Wait 15 minutes. |
| "The resume is larger than 5 MB. Please upload a smaller file." | The resume must be PDF or Word, up to 5 MB. |
| "That code is not correct, or it has expired. Ask for a new one." | Codes work for 10 minutes. Ask for a new code. |
| "A code was just sent. Please wait a minute before asking for another." | Wait one minute. |
| "Too many tries from here. Please wait 15 minutes." | Wait 15 minutes, then try again. |

## AI screening calls

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "AI screening calls come with MJX Hire Pro." | Upgrade to MJX Hire Pro. |
| "Connect your telephone provider first (Recruitment → AI calls)." | Fill your provider's details on **AI calls** and press **Save**. |
| "AI calls are switched off (Recruitment → AI calls)." | Tick **Switch AI calls on** and press **Save**. |
| "The daily limit must be between 1 and 1000 calls." | Change **Most calls in a day**. |
| "Choose at most 100 candidates at a time." | Tick fewer people and call again. |
| "The contact is still with the agency." | Press **Request contact** on the candidate. |
| "No phone number on the profile." | Add the number with **Edit details**. |
| "Calls go out 9:00 to 20:00 India time — these start when the window opens." | Nothing — the calls wait for the window. |
| "Your daily limit is … — the rest go out tomorrow." | Raise **Most calls in a day**, or wait. |
| "Only a call that is still waiting can be cancelled." | The call already started or ended. |
| Call status **Could not call** | Press **Check these details** on **AI calls**. Check your provider balance and caller number. |

## Interviews

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "This application is closed — open it again before scheduling an interview." | Move the candidate back to an open stage. |
| "That time has already passed." | Pick a future date and time. |
| "The meeting link must start with https://" | Paste the full link. |
| "Paste the meeting link." / "Type where the interview is." | Fill the link or the place for the mode you chose. |
| "Scheduling interviews comes with MJX Hire Basic and above." (app) | Upgrade to Basic or Pro. |

## AI video interviews

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "An AI interview is already open for this person. Cancel it to send a new one." | Press **Cancel it** on the open one first. |
| "Name at least one skill the answers are scored on (e.g. Communication)." | Add a skill. |
| "Speech-to-text is not installed on this server yet. …" | Answers are kept and scored as soon as it is available. |
| "This browser cannot record video. Please open this page in Chrome (Android or computer) or Safari (iPhone)." (candidate) | Ask the candidate to switch browser. |
| "The camera or microphone could not be turned on. …" (candidate) | Allow the camera and microphone from the camera icon in the address bar. |

## Offer letters

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Set the last date to accept before you release the letter." | Fill **Last date to accept**. |
| "The letter uses {{…}} (…) but it is empty. Fill it in, or take it out of the wording." | Fill that box, or remove the field from the wording. |
| "{{…}} is not a field we know. Use one of: …" | Fix the field name in the wording. |
| "The break-up adds up to ₹…" | Make the salary lines add up to the CTC, or use **Work it out by law**. |
| "Type the CTC — the break-up has to add up to it." | Type the CTC first. |
| "This offer has already been released." | It is frozen. Withdraw it and make a new one to change it. |
| "Only a draft can be deleted. A released offer can be withdrawn." | Use **Withdraw offer**. |
| "The last date to accept has already passed. Pick today or a later day." | Pick a later date. |
| "Their offer is still waiting for an answer. It has to be accepted first (or withdrawn)." | Wait for the candidate, or withdraw the offer. |
| "Mark them as joined first." | Press **Mark as joined** before **Make employee**. |

## Agencies

| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Saved — but the invite email could not be sent. Press "Email invite" or give them the sign-in link." | Press **Email invite**, or send `https://<your-address>/agency/login` yourself. |
| "This agency is switched off. Switch it on first." | Switch the agency on, then invite it. |
| "This resume is a scanned picture, so we cannot find the email and phone on it. …" (agency) | The agency removes the contact details from the file and ticks the box. |
| "Please send the resume as a PDF." (agency) | Agencies send PDF only. |
| "This candidate is already with the company." (agency) | Another source brought this person first. |

## MJX Hire app

| "MJX Hire is not switched on for this organisation." | Check the **Organisation code**, or ask the owner to switch on MJX Hire. |
| "Only people who manage hiring can use MJX Hire. Ask the owner to give you the HR role." | Ask the owner for the HR role. |
| "Drafting with AI comes with MJX Hire Pro." | Upgrade to Pro, or write the description yourself. |

## Questions people ask

### Why can I not see MJX Hire in Apps?

Either MJX Hire is not switched on for your organisation, or you do not have the HR role. Ask the owner to switch on MJX Hire in billing or give you the HR role.

### Why is my job not on Google Jobs yet?

A new job can take a few days to appear on a board. Check that the job is Open, not a draft or paused, and that the free job boards switch is On.

### Why can I not publish another job?

You have reached your plan's open-jobs limit — 1 on Forever Free and 10 on Basic. Close a filled job, or upgrade to Pro for no limit.
