# Find a teacher — get listed in MJX's teacher search

> How MJX Learn educators get listed in Find a teacher, MJX's search of verified teachers and coaching institutes, what decides the order, and how to opt out.

**Find a teacher** is MJX's own search of verified teachers and coaching institutes on MJX Learn, on the main Pathshala site at `/find-a-teacher`. Learners and parents search by name, subject or city, filter by class, language, online or in person, starting price, experience and "free demo available", and open your public page or book a free demo straight from your card.

## What your card shows

- Your photo (or logo), name and a **verified** tick
- Your subjects, city, how you teach, years of teaching, classes and languages
- Your **starting price** — the lowest price of a course you have on sale
- Your rating and number of reviews, once your listed courses have **three or more** visible reviews
- **Typically responds** — only when MJX CRM has enough of your real replies to enquiries (at least five answered in the last 90 days, most of them answered); otherwise the line is left out
- **View profile** (your public page) and **Book a free demo** (your page's demo form; shown when your plan includes MJX CRM)

## Who is listed

You are listed when **all** of these are true:

1. You hold MJX Learn (MJX LMS).
2. Your public profile is complete — headline, about (80 characters or more), at least one subject, city and how you teach. See [Public page and Google](learn/public-page-and-google).
3. **Show my page on Google** is on.
4. **Show me in Find a teacher** is on (it is on unless you turn it off).
5. At least one course is on sale and shown on your course page.
6. Your identity is verified in **Getting paid & KYC** — any one of: DigiLocker verification, an Aadhaar or PAN card accepted by MJX, or a payment account the payment provider has activated after checking your PAN and bank. See [Get paid](learn/get-paid).
7. Your account is not paused for an unpaid bill and not being closed.

Accounts whose web address or name says "test" or "demo" are treated as test accounts and are never listed.

The **Find a teacher** box on that screen says **You are listed** or **Not listed yet**, with the reasons. Changes show within a few minutes of pressing [[Save]].

## What decides the order

With **Best match** (the default):

1. **How well you match the search** — your name, subjects, headline, classes, city, languages and course titles.
2. **Real reviews** — a higher average from more reviews moves you up (only once you have three or more).
3. **A photo**, a **free demo**, a known reply time within a day, and having several courses on sale each add a little.
4. Ties go to the newest profile.

Visitors can also sort by **Rating**, **Price: low to high** or **Newest**. Nobody can pay to be placed higher.

## Subject and city pages

When three or more listed educators teach the same subject in the same city, a page of its own opens, for example `/find-a-teacher/maths-teachers-in-bhopal`, with a short summary made from the real cards on it (how many teach online or in person, the price range, how many have ratings). These pages are offered to Google and AI assistants. Below three educators the page does not exist.

## Get found on Google Maps

If you teach **in person** or **online and in person**, the Public page screen also shows **Get found on Google Maps**: a short checklist for setting up a free Business Profile on Google, in your own Google account. Use it only for a real place where learners come to you — never a virtual office or a rented mailing address — and put your MJX page address as the website. MJX does not connect to Google for this.

## Opt out

Untick **Show me in Find a teacher** and press [[Save]]. Your card leaves the list at once. Your public page, your course pages and your place on Google are not affected.

## Questions people ask

### Does it cost anything to be listed?

No. Every MJX Learn plan can be listed, as long as the listing rules below are met.

### Why am I not listed?

Open Apps › MJX Learn › Public page. The Find a teacher box says "Not listed yet" and lists exactly what is missing — most often the identity check in Getting paid & KYC, an unfinished profile, or no course on sale.

### Can I pay to appear first?

No. The order comes only from how well you match the search and from facts about your page — real reviews, a photo, a free demo, how quickly you reply to enquiries.

### Is anything about my learners shown?

No. Only your public profile, your starting price and your average rating with the number of reviews. No review text, names or phone numbers.

### How do I stop being listed?

Untick Show me in Find a teacher on the Public page screen and press Save. You leave the list at once; your own public page is not affected.
