Short answers to the questions owners and staff ask most about MJX HR, MJX Attendance and the MJX People app in Pathshala.

## Getting started

**What is MJX People?**
The staff side of Pathshala: MJX HR (records, leave, letters, requests) and MJX Attendance (check-in, shifts, machines) on the website, and the MJX People app for every employee. Start with the [Quickstart](people/quickstart).

**Is it for offices or for schools?**
Both. Sign up as a **Business** (Office/Agency/Clinic/Shop) and you see staff only. Schools and coaching centres use the same screens for their teachers and staff.

**How much does it cost?**
Every sign-up starts with a 14-day trial of every feature, with no card. Forever Free works for up to 5 employees. Paid plans are per employee, with a minimum of 5. See [Plans](people/plans).

## People and leave

**Do staff need an email address?**
No. They sign in with their mobile number — a password, or **Sign in with a code** on WhatsApp.

**Can I delete an employee?**
No. Switch them off. They cannot sign in, and every record still says who did what.

**Who approves leave?**
The reporting manager, or the owner or an admin if there is none. See [Leave and holidays](people/leave).

**Are weekends counted in a leave?**
Yes — days are counted on the calendar. A half day counts as half.

## Attendance

**Is the location tracked all day?**
No. It is taken only at the moment someone presses Check in or Check out.

**Is there face recognition?**
No. The selfie is a photo, deleted after 30 days.

**Which biometric machines work?**
eSSL and ZKTeco machines that push to a cloud server (ADMS), including door terminals. Any other machine can upload its Excel. See [Biometric machines](people/biometric-devices).

**Someone forgot to check out. What now?**
They ask for a correction from My attendance or the app, up to 31 days back. Their manager or the office approves it.

## Letters and records

**Can a bank check our experience certificate is real?**
Yes. Every letter prints your verification link. See [Letter verification](people/background-verification).

**Can I change a letter after issuing it?**
No — withdraw it with a reason and issue a new one.
